Our scheduled fleet consists of 14 Metro III/23. We service 17 markets with over 100 departures daily. Currently our minimum qualifications include: 1000 hours total time and 100 hours Multi Engine with a valid Multi-IFR.

In addition to these minimum qualifications we value; communication skills, passenger service skills, northern flying experience and previous scheduled and/or charter experience.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Apprentices

Bearskin Airlines operates two large maintenance facilities, one in Sioux Lookout and one in Thunder Bay. Our hangar in Sioux Lookout is the largest and most modern hangar at the airport. Our Thunder Bay hangar is 35,000 square and is one of the largest in the North.

Our maintenance teams carry out inspections and defect repairs on our aircraft, engines and avionics. The Thunder Bay base has an airframe shop, for structures and flight control rebuilding, and an overhaul shop responsible for overhauling aircraft components including welding and NDT capabilities. Thunder Bay also has an engine shop where we do the majority of our own engine work from repairs to overhauls for turbine engines.

Responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, modification and functional testing of aircraft, including all aspects of maintaining aircraft.

Working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Apprentice can be exciting and rewarding at Bearskin Airlines due to the diversity of work available.

Passenger Service Agent

The ideal applicant should possess a degree/diploma in Travel and Tourism or equivalent customer service experience. Data entry skills will be required to work with our reservations system. The ability to interact/relate to a wide variety of people and demands will ensure department success. Must have the ability to obtain airport security clearance.

Ramp Attendants and Groomers

The Ramp Attendant is responsible for the safe movement of baggage and cargo to and from the aircraft, the operation of ramp servicing vehicles, marshalling aircraft, as well as the general maintenance of the Hanger and office facilities.

The incumbent must have a minimum grade ten education with a valid Ontario Class G driver's license. They must be able to lift approximately 23 kg/40 lb. while loading/unloading aircraft. Must be bondable in order to hold an airport security pass. The ability to interact/relate to a wide variety of people and demands will ensure departmental success.

Dispatch

Dispatchers work from our Thunder Bay base. The main responsibilities of the dispatcher are to provide updated changes in flight schedules, flight following and delay summaries.

Marketing Assistant

The Marketing Assistant provides a support function for the Director of Marketing & Sales. Responsibilities include the ongoing maintenance of fares, fare rules and flight schedules within Bearskin Airlines Reservation System and with all appropriate agencies, acting as a liaison with all computer reservation systems. Responsible for revenue optimization of assigned markets through the timely, accurate and efficient application of revenue management system. Responsible for tracking and analysis of revenue trends to support management decisions as well as implementation of initiatives and/or responses to competitive pricing actions.

Specific Duties: Specific Duties include, but not limited to the following: Prepare and file fares and rules complying with all regulations. Prepare, maintain and distribute fare tables. Liaison with air carriers, Airline Tariff Publishing Company and various Computer Reservation Systems, monitor market fares. Maintain system schedule and prepare, maintain & distribute copies of schedules. Manage available inventory using revenue management system. Gather and maintain statistical information; advanced knowledge of excel and data mining is required. Back up support for Customer Service/Help Desk when required. Provide departmental support and support to Reservation Agents as required.Provide computer reservation systems support to staff as required. Provide booking support for Corporate customers. Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by consistently following all rules, regulations and prescribed work methods, and where necessary, reporting all unsafe or unhealthy conditions to a supervisor or Safety and Health Committee Representative

Skills: Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a quickly + changing environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills. Familiarity with Sabre, GDS systems, and ATPCO would be an asset. Able to work in both a team environment and independently on projects as assigned. Fluent understanding of automated systems and standard computer software (excel, word, powerpoint).Must be able to work well with others in a time sensitive environment. Customer service and goals oriented

The Passenger Service Agent’s primary responsibility is to serve the general public in a pleasant, respectful manner from the reservations process to passenger check in through to boarding the flight or accepting cargo.

Qualifications:The successful applicant should possess a College Diploma in Travel and Tourism or a minimum of one year related work experience. Must possess excellent customer service skills as well as the ability to interact and communicate in a positive way to a wide variety of people we serve. Computer and data entry skills will be required to work with our reservations system. Must have the ability to obtain airport security clearance. Must have flexible availability and be able to work a variety of shifts.
